Who is a Legionnaire ?

From every walk of life they come. Every occupation. Every race, creed and color. Men and women. Their single bond is honorable service in the uniform of the United States of America during the periods of hostilities of our nation's conflicts.

The organization which they have created has been described as the most representative cross-sectionin the nation. As varied as the nation's 17,000 posts are in size and activities, each provides a focal center for veteran sentiment and patriotic feeling. Each feels a responsibility for the well being of veterans generally and individually. And, to an amazing extent, discharges that responsibility. Each carries on projects or lends support in that broad area which has come to be known as community service.
