2nd Vice Vantage

Post 43 2nd Vice Commander Tim Shaner

We have a lot of great events coming up, but I think it would be nice to introduce myself and my background first.

I’ve been a member of the American Legion Post 43 for over 46 years, Past Commander and held every office working up to that. I strongly support moving through the Chairs to learn all there is to learn, starting with being an active member of our many helpful committees. Like many of us in the entertainment industry, I had a chance to be an actor, and after seven successful years, my family became my focus. Three children and a successful career as a Registered Investment Advisor RIA.. and still am. Having an MBA in International Economics helped with the transition to domestic Dad and allowed me more time to support the Post as their advisor, member of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee for many years.

I have seen a lot, as you can imagine, and dealing with COVID was the worst. Getting together, which we’re all about here at Post 43, was all about Zoom sessions which does not do well for active membership. I’m hoping, now that we’re back, that we can start doing some fun things again like bus rides to football games and other fun events. With our new Movie Theatre, we can bring in some prerelease, current and nostalgic movies to get our members and guests to return to our Post and be together again in comradery and friendship. Maybe I can even talk some of you into leadership positions, head up a committee, be a member or just create one.

Don’t forget we have a great calendar, onlineost43.org/event-list#!event-list with updated information like our Sunday Fundays, Legion Lounge, Big Band Night on the 9th, Social Meetings, Music Nights and your always welcome to drop into our Executive Committee Meetings in person or online Zoom. Check the calendar for exact dates, location, and times. You’re always welcome to contact us directly at Post43.org with any questions or concerns. Best to you all always, Tim Shaner your 2nd Vice Commander.
